Have your say...
The future of the River Express, operated by Sydney Ferries, is dependent on support and demand from commuters. For the service to remain viable current patronage levels will need to increase. Transport NSW and Sydney Ferries are conducting a review of the service to assess if it should remain.

The Background
The River Express was launched in November 2009 to give the Parramatta and Rydalmere commuters additional public transport options to the CBD at a cost of $4m per year.
Patronage figures show that since the service began an average of just six people catch the 7.00am service and 11 people catch the 8.00am service each weekday from Parramatta Wharf.
The Service
The River Express to and from the CBD operates in the morning and evening peaks. It takes just 55 minutes from Parramatta and only 35 minutes from Rydalmere.
The service departs Parramatta Wharf at 7.00am, 8.00am, 9.00am and 10.00am Monday to Friday, with one stop at Rydalmere. In the evenings, the River Express service departs Circular Quay at 5.00pm, 6.00pm and 7.00pm.
The Opportunity
To justify the ongoing cost to tax payers, patronage on the service must increase. Catch the River Express to enjoy the most relaxing way to get to and from work.
