Overview of Performance Trends
A program of reform by Sydney Ferries has led to improvements in service reliability and safety performance.
As a result of the reform initiatives:
- The on-time running rate has increased from 98.0% in 2006-07 to 98.8%
- Patronage has gorwn more than 10% in three years
- Complaints per passenger journey have declined from 12.8 per 100,000 passenger journeys in 2006-07 to 3.5 in the current financial year.
- Collisions and groundings have reduced from 18 per 100,000 operating hours in 2006-07 to nil in the six months to December 2011
- Vessel availability has increased from 76.6% to 86.8%
