Over 200,000 ferry passengers will have access to free wireless internet from today, with WiFi now installed on 13 Sydney Ferries vessels.
Minister for Transport John Robertson said, from today all ‘First Fleet’ ferries, including the
Charlotte, Golden Grove, Scarborough, Friendship, Borrowdale and all Manly Ferries will offer free
WiFi.
“Passengers will be able to check their emails, read the news and catch up with friends online while
travelling across Sydney Harbour on a ferry,” said Mr Robertson.
“Last year we commenced a trial of free WiFi on the Manly Ferry and more than 140,000 people
logged on, and took advantage of the service.
“As a result, free WiFi is being extended from today, to nine extra vessels and almost 1500 extra
services per week.
