Saturday, 2 October 2010The October long weekend co-incides with the busy school holiday period as well as several events around Sydney. Please read below for important service information.

Parramatta River service information
Due to natural low tides in the shallow waters of the upper Parramatta River, the following trips between Parramatta and Rydalmere will be operated by buses. Read more here.

Event information
NRL Grand Final ANZ Stadium Sunday, 3 October
Sydney Ferries is operating to a normal Sunday timetable to and from Sydney Olympic Park. If ferry services reach capacity, please consider train services which regularly depart from Circular Quay Station.
The last services to depart Sydney Olympic Park Wharf to Circular Quay on this date are the 7.00pm (all stops) and 7.07pm (express) service.
Sunday is one of our busiest times so plan ahead, arrive early and allow plenty of time to travel.

Harbour Island Hopping Monday, 4 October
The Island Hopping event to Clark Island is being run by Captain Cook Cruises. These services will depart from Circular Quay Wharf 6. Read more here.
Luna Park 75th Anniversary Monday, 4 October
Please ensure you plan ahead, arrive early and allow plenty of time to travel. Sydney Ferries will be operating to the public holiday timetable. Regular CityRail services also operate to Milsons Point station.

General travel information
The October long weekend is one of our busiest times so please plan ahead, arrive early and allow extra time for travel in order to make the most of your day!
- To avoid the crowds, why not consider catching an earlier or later service?
- On Family Funday Sunday ferries can sometimes get full or be delayed. Listen out for announcements or use the HelpPoint to access service information.
- During peak service times, Sydney Ferries may issue boarding passes for boarding on Parramatta River services. Boarding passes may be handed out at both Parramatta and Circular Quay wharves. Please enquire with Sydney Ferries staff and listen for announcements to see if boarding passes are currently being issued.
- Do not hesitate to ask a Sydney Ferries staff member on a vessel or wharf if you have a question or are unsure about a service.
- And remember to be SunSmart! Wear a high SPF sunscreen, a hat and shirt to protect yourself from the sun and carry a big bottle of water to keep hydrated during the day.
Tips for travelling with children 'keep 'em safe keep 'em close':
- When boarding or alighting via the gangway, ensure that your children hold on to the rail.
- Ensure your children stay well away from the edge of the wharf or pontoon.
- When on the vessel, ensure your children do not run or stray.
- Children should be assisted through the gates and families should consider using the wide gate.
- Where possible, larger prams should be collapsed before boarding the ferry.
