Clean, Safe Wharves Ministerial Update (Posted: 30-Jun-2010)
NSW Maritime, in partnership with local residents, councils, fishing groups, NSW Police and Sydney Ferries, are currently taking further steps to ensure better commuter wharves on Sydney Harbour.
The Clean, Safe Wharves initiative will restrict recreation fishing times on some commuter wharves, provide a new cleaning contract for Abbotsford, Cabarita, Chiswick and Kissing Point Wharves, and where fishing is permitted, display new signs promoting safe and responsible fishing.
The initiative, supported by Sydney Ferries, delivers on Sydney Ferries' Customer Charter 2010 commitment to work with key partners to provide safe, clean and comfortable wharves for our customers.
