Sydney Ferries Summer Timetables - effective 17 December (Posted: 07-Dec-2011)

From Saturday, 17 December 2011, the Sydney Ferries summer timetables will apply.


There are additional services on the Manly Ferry route, and minor amendments to the Woolwich / Balmain and Darling Harbour / Balmain East timetables.

The timetables include summer event information for public holidays, special days like Christmas, Boxing Day, New Years Eve and Day as well as Australia Day.

Reminder: Over the holiday period there is increased patronage and ferry services are very popular. Please plan your trip and allow extra travel time.

For a printed copy please ask a ticket booth staff member at Manly or Circular Quay or call Transport Info 131 500 for a copy to be mailed to you. Copies will be available across the wharves from the 16th of December.

Holiday / Event services

Christmas Eve, Saturday, 24 December – Sydney Ferries will operate to a Saturday timetable.

Christmas Day, Sunday 25 December – Sydney Ferries will operate to a Sunday timetable except for: Manly and Darling Harbour services which operate to a special timetable. Parramatta River and Eastern Suburbs services do not operate.

Boxing Day, Monday, 26 December - Sydney Ferries will operate to a Public Holiday timetable, except Manly and Eastern Suburbs services which will run to an amended Public Holiday timetable due to the Sydney to Hobart Yacht Race.

Public Holiday, Tuesday, 27 December - Sydney Ferries will operate to a Public Holiday timetable.

New Years Eve, Saturday, 31 December - Sydney Ferries is operating to a Saturday timetable on New Year’s Eve until the Harbour exclusion zone comes in to effect from approximately 6pm. Due to large expected crowds, please arrive early and allow extra time for travel. All ferry services will be suspended until approximately 12.30am, when additional services will run on some routes after the midnight fireworks to get you home from New Years Eve events.

New Years Day, Sunday, 1 January - Sydney Ferries services will operate to a Sunday timetable with the follow exceptions: The Woolwich / Balmain services at 8.10am and 9.10am will go directly from Circular Quay to Cockatoo Island, without making outbound stops. To allow for a 24 hour service after the New Year’s Eve fireworks, Manly Ferry services will operate to a special event timetable on New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day. Public Holiday, Monday, 2 January - Sydney Ferries will operate to a Public Holiday timetable.
