Sydney Ferries service interruption on Monday 5 September UPDATE 5 September (Posted: 01-Sep-2011)
Sydney Ferries customers are advised there will be an interruption to services between 10am and 2pm on Monday (5 September), and they will need to use buses and trains to get to their destination during this time.
Importantly, services during the busy morning and afternoon peak periods will not be affected.
Ferry services will not run between 10am and 2pm on Monday, but ferry tickets will be recognised on CityRail trains and Sydney Buses during this period. In addition, a Replacement bus services will be in operation between Manly and Circular Quay.
Sydney Ferries staff are meeting on Monday to discuss employment arrangements ahead of the proposed franchising of the service by the NSW Government.

What other arrangements are in place?
Manly Ferry - There will be a shuttle bus service in place between Manly and Circular Quay. Customers do not need a ticket for this service.
All other services - Ticket recognition has been arranged on CityRail trains and Sydney Buses during this period. Customers can show their ferry ticket to the bus driver or CityRail gate staff to access bus and train services.
What is the service interruption all about?
The meeting on Monday is an opportunity provided by the NSW Government for staff to be advised about the proposed employment arrangements.
As the workforce is spread across multiple locations, suspending services for a short period is the best way to minimise disruption to passengers.
The Government has met with the relevant unions to discuss the proposed arrangements for transferring staff to the new private operator.
