What is a Pensioner Excursion ticket?
A Pensioner Excursion ticket entitles valid concession card holders to all day travel on the Sydney suburban transport network for $2.50. All Australian Pensioner Concession Card holders* , All Australian Seniors Card holders and NSW or Victorian War Widow/er Pension Card holders may purchase this ticket.
Pensioner Excursion Tickets are not valid for entry/exit into Green Square, Mascot, Domestic Airport and International Airport station. An additional access fee applies at these stations.
Where can I buy a Pensioner Excursion ticket?
You can buy a Pensioner Excursion Ticket from any State Transit Authority bus service, Sydney Ferries ticket outlets or cashiers and from CityRail stations.
What other pensioner concession tickets can I purchase?
All Australian Pensioners Concession Card holders, NSW Seniors Card holders and NSW or Victorian War Widow/er Pension Card holders can also purchase Weekly MyMulti Passes at concession rates for ferry travel. The Weekly MyMulti Pass extends across Sydney Buses and/or CityRail services, except for entry/exit into Green Square, Mascot, Domestic Airport and International Airport stations- an additional access fee applies at these stations. These concession card entitlements do not apply to MyFerry TravelTen tickets.
What special conditions apply?
Pensioner Excursion tickets are valid for one-day travel until 4.00am the following day on:
- Sydney Ferries services
- Sydney Buses services
- CityRail services
- Newcastle Ferries services
- All government and privately operated bus services in the metropolitan and outer metropolitan areas.
Pensioner Excursion tickets are not valid on some premium services (including Explorer buses) and a station access fee applies for Mascot, Green Square, Domestic and International Airport train stations.
Travel is permitted on special shuttle buses to Moore Park and Randwick Racecourse.

*Eligible beneficiaries must hold current, Australian Government issued cards (as shown on this page) and include:
- Aged Pensioners
- Persons in receipt of the Mature Age Allowance
- Disability Support Pensioners
- Persons receiving the Parenting Payment (single)
- Persons receiving the Carer Payment
- Persons over 60 on long term payments including Newstart Allowance, Sickness Allowance, Widow Allowance, Partner Allowance, Parenting Payment or Special Benefit.
