Balmain Woolwich Proposed Timetable
Changes are proposed to the ferry timetable to provide a more logical and consistent service for passengers. This includes improved connections with bus services.
The main changes proposed to Balmain / Woolwich services are:
-
More services for Balmain (Thames Street), including services all day Sunday.
-
The Cockatoo Island stop would now be at the end of the Balmain / Woolwich route. This means the Woolwich service will not stop at Cockatoo Island between Woolwich and Greenwich wharves. This would improve bus connections to Woolwich Wharf.
-
Extended hours on Sundays.
-
The last service on week-days and Saturdays from Circular Quay for Birchgrove, Greenwich and Woolwich would depart Circular Quay at 10:25 pm. This and the two previous services departing at 8:25 pm and 9:25 pm would be integrated with the Parramatta River service.
-
Balmain East (Darling Street) Wharf would now be fully serviced by the Darling Harbour route, with 30 minute frequencies all day. This doubles the number of commuter peak services to Darling Harbour from Balmain East.
-
Discontinuation of services to Birkenhead Point due to low demand and a reduction in Balmain West services.
-
A commuter/ school student service would continue to operate between Balmain West and Circular Quay, with intermediate stops at Thames Street Balmain, McMahons Point and Milsons Point.
