Support and FAQs
- Why does the network sometimes go down or is slow?
On occasion the network may go down if the vessel hits a black spot (such as on the Manly Ferry near the heads) or if the service switches from one signal tower to the next. This is similar when you mobile reception dims when it changes signal towers. Each vessel's Wi-Fi connection is monitored in real-time by our technicians. They monitor for and can address faults as they arise.
- Is my IP address provided to third party Wi-Fi sponsors when I connect or do you store my details?
Sydney Ferries and/or Tomizone are not collecting or passing on IP addresses to sponsors. In order to provide free Wi-Fi to passengers, companies sponsor the Wi-Fi service. As part of that sponsorship, once a customer logs on and is connected to the Wi-Fi, they are simply redirected to the sponsor’s website.
There is no collection of personal data or passing on of information to advertisers and customers should be assured of their privacy in this regard.
- What vessels have free Wi-Fi access?
All RiverCat, First Fleet, Freshwater (Manly) and SuperCat class vessels have free Wi-Fi installed, covering 96% of all customers on our network.
- Who should I contact if I have ongoing issues or need connection support?
Please check the FAQ and How to Connect links below for initial troubleshooting. Customers who are having ongoing issues or need tech support should email help@tomizone.com or call the Tomizone support number on 1300 881 862. Tomizone then can work with you to resolve the issue.
